Menswear Trend 2012 ~ Return of the Gentleman

While doing research for a -potentially- new and very cool project, I realized that we have been neglecting all of the fashion curious men in our life! Here are our top picks for 2012 – welcome the year of the Gentleman.

{Our favorite} top 3 menswear labels at the moment are:

1. Ami, http://www.amiparis.fr
The premise of the founder, Alexandre Mattiussi, was that he wanted to create clothes for himself and his friends – hence the name, ‘ami’. The label is masculine, in keeping with the gentleman trend as far as fit and sparing use of color. J’adore.

2. Maison Kitsuné, http://www.kitsune.fr
Another French label, Maison Kitsune had a full Great Gatsby inspired S/S 2012. Always on the more preppy side in its clothing collections, it totally fits this trend. Additionally, Kitsuné has a great record label that is anything but conservative. Definitely check it out!

3. The Kooples, http://www.thekooples.com
This is a label that consistently impresses – it has a very pulled together and tailored feel while keeping a cool/rock edge. The Kooples also started a sport collection that shouldn’t disappoint, this year!

The other images are from the runway shows from last September – really nice pops of color for this Spring/Summer and fit. If you’re looking for more inspiration, we can also suggest Perry Ellis, JCREW, Bespoken, Loden Dager (images above with shorts) and Zara Man.

Hope you enjoy! ccxo
